The Roman
Road To Salvation
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the
gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one
that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. |

Roman Road: The Highway to a Relationship with God
Roman Road – it’s not just a beautiful and systematic way to build
highways inherited from the Roman Empire in the 1st Century. It’s also
God’s plan of salvation set forth in Paul’s letter to the Romans. Also
known as the Roman Road, the following is
a very clear and simple
presentation of the way of Salvation by grace. |

Personal Testimony of
Jerry Summy:
Growing up in Horntown, Oklahoma, I used to attend Banner Baptist
Church and hear preachers like T. W. White, Guy Ward, Fred Vick and later
Royce
Strickland but I was never saved. Some of my friends and my sisters
trusted Christ and were saved, but I was always too shy to talk with
anyone about trusting Christ as my personal Saviour. I knew I needed
to be saved but I just didn't know how and would never talk with anyone
about it. For the most part I tried to just ignore God and Church. I
eventually just stopped going to church. I can't remember going at all
after the eighth grade. My life was filled with hunting, fishing and
sports at good old Moss High!
I later found out to my good fortune that being saved is very
simple when you know just a few simple truths. I would like to share them
with you on this web page so that you too can have the opportunity to be
saved. I was saved at the age of 19 at Banner Baptist Church through the
personal witness of Pastor Royce Strickland. I was not saved in a regular
church service but at the wedding shower this little faithful church gave
for my brand new bride and myself. Bro. Strickland caught me as I
came into the hallway and started telling me the same things that I will
share with you on this web page. I hope you will find eternal life as I
did that night back in December of 1963.

Four Simple Truths Found In
The Book of Romans - The Roman Road of Salvation

You Must Know You Are A
Sinner:
Romans 3:20
As it is written, There is none
righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 For all have
sinned and come short of the glory of God
For me this didn't take much
convincing, I knew I had done many things against God's word. I knew I had
transgressed His law in many areas of my life.
Question: How many banks would you have to rob before you
became a bank robber? How many people would you have to kill before you
became a murderer? How many sins would you have to commit before you
became a sinner? Just One!!
God includes us all in this matter of being a sinner, whether we admit it
or not.

You Must
Know That God Has Placed A Penalty On Sin:
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We all know what wages are. . .
. .this is what we receive for our work, this is what we have earned. We
used to say 8 hours pay for 8 hours work. Well the paycheck for
sinning is death. . . . .and the bad part of this is that it's more than
just physical death, but it is spiritual death. The word death simply
means separation. In physical death the spirit separates from the body and
leaves the body dead. But in spiritual death it is the eternal soul
separated away from God for ever and ever. The book of Revelation
calls this the second death. Revelation 20:14-15
I don't say this to judge you but if you die without Christ as your
personal Saviour you will not only experience physical death, but
spiritual death in a place called the Lake of Fire. That's where I was
headed until someone loved me enough to take the time to tell me about
Christ and His love for me.

You Must
Know That God Loves You & Jesus Died For Your Sins:
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The great news that I found
out over 41 years ago is that God didn't just say He loved me, He
demonstrated His love for me by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die for me
and my sins. Plus, He didn't wait for me to start living a better
life or turning over a new leaf or to start going to church every Sunday.
He loved me even though I had sinned against Him.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You Must
Know That God Will Save You If You Will Place Your Trust in Jesus Christ:
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
Please let me state very
strongly that faith (believe) is the key to Heaven. I have many keys on my
key ring. Many of them look similar or in some cases identical. But there
is only one of those keys that will unlock the front door to my house.
I said that to say this: There is only one key that will
unlock the door of Heaven so to speak. Jesus Christ is that Key and Him
alone. You must place your personal faith in Him believing He died for you
and rose again for you. It's not Jesus Christ plus
baptism; It's not Jesus Christ plus church membership; It's not Jesus
Christ and you trying harder; It not Jesus Christ and you doing something
religious. . . . .It's just faith in Jesus Christ alone.
According to this next verse (13) if you were to ask the Lord to
forgive you of all your sins and save you, do you think He would?
Read the verse and believe God will do what He says He will do.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.
Notice: That word whosoever. . . . . .that means
that anyone including you can call on the name of the Lord, just
simply ask the Lord to save you because you believe in your heart that
Jesus not only died for you but you believe He arose from the dead and is
able and willing to save you.

Concluding Remarks:
Remember that verse in Romans 6:23
that told us the bad news about the wages of sin? Well the rest of that
verse tells us the good news that eternal life is a gift through Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Question: How do you receive a free gift (and it must be free with
no strings attached or it's not a gift)? The only way that I know to
receive a Free Gift is to simply reach out and take it. A true gift cannot
be purchased or earned otherwise it would not be a gift.
If you are willing to receive the gift of eternal life through Christ,
simply tell God in your own words that you know you have sinned and that
you are willing to repent of your sins and right now you are trusting
Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour because of the fact He died on the
cross to pay for your sins and rose again to save you forever.
Encouragement: If God is speaking to your heart about this
please trust Christ today! Don't put it off!
If you have questions about salvation or being saved please let me
know and I will try my best to give you a bible answer. If you did trust
Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour after reading this web page, I would like to send you a booklet that will help you grow in your new
found relationship with Jesus Christ. Please
