Services were
held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Streetman Road Baptist
Church in Mead for Ralph Cherry, 77, of Mead who passed away Wednesday,
March 14, 2007. Rev. Darren Wallace officiated assisted by Ralph's son
Ron Cherry.
Ralph was born July 29, 1929, in Yeager, Oklahoma to
Clarence and Nellie (Rogers) Cherry. Ralph attended school at Moss and
the University of Tulsa. He married Joyce Harwell on September 9, 1950,
in Wetumka, and they moved to the Bryan County area from Lindsay in
1993. Ralph was a member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church. His
hobbies included fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and
Nellie Cherry; and great-granddaughter Nicole Cherry.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Cherry of the home; son
Rick Cherry and wife Margie, Blue Springs, Mo.; son Ron Cherry and wife
Jamie, Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter Cheryl Milbee and husband Jerry of
Shawnee; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; special son,
Don Harvey, Mead; brother Lyman Cherry and wife Melba of Wichita, Kan.;
brother, Dale Cherry and wife Sue, Madill; brother Randal Cherry and
wife Rosa Lee, Kansas City, Mo.; sister Dorothy Hughes and husband
Kenneth of Wetumka; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Interment was at 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Holdenville
Cemetery in Holdenville, with Rick Cherry, Ron Cherry, Jerry Milbee, and
Don Harvey serving as pallbearers. |
