Charles Leon Maxwell of
Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, July 28, 2003, at the OU
Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 47 after a long
battle with Leukemia. He was born June 7, 1956 in Holdenville to Pansy
(Mills) Maxwell and Lee Maxwell.
He was raised in and around the Lamar and Holdenville area and went
to school and graduated from Moss High School in 1974.
He was married to Debbie Doughty on May 29, 2001. Charles was
preceded in death by his father, Lee Maxwell. He is survived by his wife
Debbie of the home in Holdenville, Oklahoma; two daughters, Amber
Maxwell and Carrie Maxwell of Boonesville, Missouri; his mother, Pansy
Maxwell Wingo and her husband, Clester, of Holdenville, Oklahoma; one
brother, Johnny Maxwell, Jr., and his wife, Barbara of Holdenville,
Oklahoma; one sister, Deanna Pickett of Holdenville, Oklahoma; one step
sister, Connie Taylor of Holdenville; two step children, Gina Mullins
and her husband, Chad of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Justin Flowers of
El Reno, Oklahoma; three nephews, Johnny Maxwell, Jr. and his wife,
JoNell, Roger Pickett and his wife, Cheryl and Dennis Pickett and his
wife, Katrina all of Holdenville, Oklahoma, along with many other
relatives and good friends.
Funeral services were held at the Capitol Heights Baptist Church on
Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Crawford
officiating. Pallbearers were Ron Hardwick, Steve Carpenter, Jackie
Mills, Leroy Mills, David Bates and Gary Maxwell. Honorary Pall bearers
were Jerry Kimbro, Justin Flowers, Chad Mullins, and his nephews, Johnny
Maxwell, Jr., Roger Pickett, and Dennis Pickett. Interment followed the
services at the Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips
Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma. |
