Raunikar, 89, passed away on January 11, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15th, from 5-7 at Strode
Funeral Home in Stillwater. Graveside service will be Saturday,
January 16th, at 9:00 a.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery with memorial
services following at 10:00 a.m. at University Heights Baptist
Church in Stillwater with Reverend John Bugg officiating.
Joe, as he was called, was born on September 29, 1926, in McAlester, to Ed Jr., and Frances (Videgar) Raunikar. Joe attended Grayson Elementary and graduated from Wilburton High School in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Joe went on to obtain a Masterís Degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma A&M. Joe was a Vocational Agricultural Teacher as well as Assistant State Supervisor for the state department of Vo-Tech (FFA).
Joe was married to Mary White until her death in 1978. To this union were born Jan, Linda and Roy. Joe then married Betty Johnson on June 5, 1981, in Stillwater.
Joe was a member of University Heights Baptist Church, O.E.A., FFA Alumni Association and the OSU Alumni Association. Other interests included farming, sharing garden produce, dominos and polka music.
Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Jan Raunikar; first wife Mary Raunikar; parents Ed Jr. and Frances Raunikar; and brothers Frank and Robert Raunikar.
Joe is survived by his wife Betty of Stillwater; daughter Linda (Robert) Cimino; son Thomas Roy (Angela) Raunikar; and step-daughter Rhonda (Kenny) Harrison; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cimino, Benjamin Cimino, Evan Raunikar, Brian Harrison, Austin Raunikar and Mark Raunikar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Lindsay, Raymond Cochrum, Verlin Hart, Ralph Dreesen, Don Ramsey and Frank E. Raunikar.
