Jimmie D. Shores of Wellsville, Kansas passed away on
July the 23rd. 2005, at his home at the age of 70.
He was born on Oct. 25th, 1934 in Holdenville,
Oklahoma to Lester J. Shores and Edna M. Shores.
He served in the United States Army with an
honorable discharge, and worked as a carpenter most
of his life and retired in 2001. He married Sue
Richardson in Nowata, Oklahoma on March 24th. 1967.
He attended Fairview and Moss Schools near
Holdenville in Hughes County, Oklahoma.
He was of the Baptist faith and was survived by
his wife Sue, one son Kenneth Wayne Shores of
Eufaula, Oklahoma. Four daughters, Virginia
Lelbach of Spokane, Washington, Kathy Sare and
husband Dwight of Rantoul, Kansas, Vicki Oxley and
husband Glen of Olathe, Kansas, Cindy Miller of
Baldwin, Kansas. Seven grandsons, four
granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Three
brothers, Wilburn Shores and wife Shirley of Paris,
Texas, Arnold Shores and wife Myrtle of Eufaula,
Oklahoma, Marvin Shores and wife Pat of Shasta,
California. Four sisters LuVeta Nickell of
Wilburton, Oklahoma, Kathleen Schiwart and husband
Kenneth of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Shirleen Roark and
husband Wayne of Meridian, Indiana and Judy Shores
of Wilburton, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lester
and Edna Shores, two brothers Kenneth and Russell
Shores. A brother-in-law David Nickell, two nephews
Nathaniel Smith and James Russell Stickler and one
great nephew Russell James Shores.
Graveside services were held on Thursday July
28th in Wellsville, Kansas at 11:00 A.M.
