Jesse Lee
Skipworth, a Lamar resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at
the age of 55. Jesse was born April 6, 1945 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to
Jess M. and Neoma R. (Ervin) Skipworth. He was raised in Lamar and was a
lifelong resident graduating from Lamar Schools. In 1966 Jesse married
Imogene Barker Crank in Cattlesburg, Kentucky. Jesse was a member of the
Free Pentecostal Holiness Church of Lamar. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Jess and Neoma Skipworth and one sister, Lucille Bain.
Survivors are wife Imogene Skipworth of the home; children Rhonda
(Gordon) Kramer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Charles "Butch" (Pam)
Skipworth of Holdenville, Jami Lee (Michelle) Skipworth of Lamar;
sisters Ruby (Alfred) Wagoner of Lamar, Nadine (Donnie) McCoy of
Holdenville, and Janice (William) Martin of Lamar; nine
grandchildren-Heather (Troy) Herrick, Tamara (Randy) Berry, Jeremy and
Felicia Skipworth, Brittney Skipworth, Daniel, Kristen, Leah and Alex
Kramer and one great-grandchild Dillon Herrick.
Funeral services were held at 10:a.m. on Monday July 17,2000, at the
Free Pentecostal Holiness Church of Lamar with Reverend Darrell Seeley,
Reverend Barney Gibson, and Reverend Jessie Burns officiating.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Jett, Russ Arthur, Curtis Leftwitch, Donnie
Freeman, Keith Martin and Raymond Leader. Honorary pallbearers are Ed
Hardin, Jimmy Luna, Perry Burleson, And Wylie Mills. Interment
followed the service at Lamar Cemetery under the direction of
Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
