Our Sincere Sympathy

Jack D. Crawford
August 13, 1936 - November 28, 2009

Jack D. Crawford passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Unity Health Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years.
Jack was the son of Haskell & Mildred (Green) Crawford, born on August 13, 1936, in Lamar, Oklahoma. He was brought up in the Horntown area, and attended Moss schools. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served six years, four active and two in the reserve.
He married Virgie Beck on September 24, 1960, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was employed working on a crew for Oklahoma Natural Gas, and retired as local manager of Oklahoma Natural Gas. After retiring, he worked part time for the Wildlife Department and later installing siding, until health problems forced him into actual retirement.
Jack became a Christian at an early age, and loved listening to Gospel music and playing it on his guitar. He loved to fish and hunt, and raise tomatoes every summer to share with friends. He enjoyed helping others and the company of friends dropping by to visit him. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virgie, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Kathy Crawford of Sparks, Nevada; four grandchildren: Matthew, Paige and Ryan, all of Sparks, and Lauryn of Southampton, New Jersey; his sister, Joan Hall, of Oklahoma City, his brother Bill and wife Liz, of Norman, and his brother-in-law, Donald Beck, of Holdenville.
Per Jack's request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
