Funeral Services for Johnny E. Griffin were held 2:00 pm, Monday, March
14, 2005 at the Holdenville Cemetery, in Holdenville Oklahoma.
Interment followed under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Johnny Griffin was born May 5, 1943, in Atwood,
Oklahoma to John Geoffrey and Nora Alice (Treat) Griffin. He was raised
in the Hughes County Area and graduated from Moss High School. He
married Melba Abernathy in 1962, in Dustin, OK. They lived in Midwest
City in the 1960s, during which Johnny was in the Air Force from 1961
until 1968. After his service in the Air Force, Johnny and Melba made
their home in Prague. Johnny worked for General Motors as a test driver.
Johnny's hobbies included fishing, camping, traveling across the
country, canoeing, skiing, and his family.
Johnny
passed away March 11, 2005 at the Midwest City Regional Hospital at the
age of 61.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; John Geoffrey and Nora Alice Griffin,
and siblings; Rudolph Griffin, Dorsey Griffin, and Shirley May.
Survivors include his wife Melba Griffin of the home;
children Johnny and his wife Tammy Griffin of Holdenville, OK and Connie
and husband Larry Kellner of Meeker, OK; ten grandchildren; Jamie
McAnally, Derick McAnally, Matt McAnally, Brandon Kellner, Savanah
Kellner, Alicia Griffin, Darcy Griffin, Callie Griffin, Boone Griffin,
and Ashlyn Griffin; two great-grandchildren: Dakota and Braedyn; and
five siblings: Lorene Monday of Seminole, OK, Morene Brittan of Guthrie,
OK, Judy Taylor of Monks Corner, South Carolina, Lynsey Griffin of
Lexington, OK and Ricky Griffin of Ada, OK; and a host of nieces,
nephews and other relatives and special friends. |
