Emery Doyle Hardwick, longtime Hughes County resident passed away on August 12, 2012. He was born on December 14, 1928 in Calvin, Oklahoma to Jeff and Mandy (Evans) Hardwick. Doyle attended school and graduated from Moss Public School. Later he attended OSU Okmulgee Vo-Tech focusing his education in auto-mechanics.
He married Shirley Yarberry on December 4, 1954. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Doyle enjoyed traveling all over the United States, Holland, Argentina, Bahamas, and Old Mexico. He also took pleasure in relaxing at home at his favorite fishing spots and at Lake Roosevelt in Arizona. Doyle worked for Hinkles and McCoy Pipe Construction as truck driver where he retired in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Troy Hardwick and Clayton Hardwick, 1 sister Edna Shields.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home, brother Donald Hardwick of Holdenville, sons Ronald Hardwick of Lamar, Vernon and wife Esther Hardwick of Holdenville, Alan and wife Cheryl Hardwick of Enid, Oklahoma, daughters Donitta Lawson of Midwest City and Robin and husband Steve Bethune of Charlotte, North Carolina, six grandchildren, Amy Shed, Diawna Ware, April Keese, Heath Hardwick, Jasmine Bethune, Jade Bethune and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are
scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Texas Banner
Church of God with Bro. Keith Klossner of Covington, Indiana officiating
and Bro. Joe Lunsford assisting. Interment will follow at the
Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Billy
Taylor, Yates Adcock, Larry Langwell, Randy Fields, Lloyd Stringfellow
and Jerry Hardwick. Honorary bearers will be Howard Upchurch, Tommy
Summy, and Harold Phillips. Services are under the direction of
Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Online
