Daniel T. Moles, 75, of
McAlester, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, in McAlester. The family greeted
friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. Graveside
services were 2 p.m. Thursday at Tannehill Cemetery Pavilion with the
Rev. Clifford Joines officiating. Burial was at Tannehill Cemetery under
the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester..
Born Sept. 29, 1931, in Lamar, he was the son of John
and Dovie (Morgan) Moles. He graduated from Moss High School. He started
work in 1956 as a brakeman for Rock Island Railroad in El Reno. He moved
to McAlester in 1965 and worked for Seamprufe until retiring. He married
Jo Marcum-Marshall on Sept. 29, 1971. He was a member of the North Town
Church of Christ. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing vegetables
with family and friends.
Survivors include daughters, Priscilla Carder and
husband, Kent of El Reno, and Rebecca MacArthur and husband, John,
Arlington, Texas; stepsons, Glen Marshall and wife, Kathy, of McAlester,
and Michael Marshall and wife, Debbie, of Bristow. Also, seven
grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
brother, Charlie Moles and wife, Karen, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister,
Wanda Lott and husband, Burton, of Lamar, and numerous nieces, nephews,
other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dovie
Moles; wife, Jo Moles, and two brothers, Roland Moles and James Bert
Moles.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald Williams, Wayne Rider,
Norman Rider, Aaron Boatright and Vernice Jones.
