friend to me and a good friend to Moss School, He was also the
dad of my best friend Donnie Hardwick - He always had good advice for us
when we were
growing up - some we took and some we didn't, but always regretted it in

Clayton Baxter "C.B." Hardwick, Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away
Wednesday, July 28, 2004. He was a resident of Boyce Manor Nursing Home
since March 2002.
C. B. was born on October 9, 1923 at Bear, Oklahoma to
Jeff and Mandy Hardwick. He grew up in the Hughes County area and
married Lorena Chisum on March 1, 1944. They celebrated their 60th.
wedding anniversary in March, 2004. He entered the US Army in 1944 and
served four years. He also served over 20 years on the Moss School Board
and was a tremendous supporter of the school system.
C. B. worked for Johnny Gaberino for 22 years. He also
raised a huge garden each year and enjoyed raising cattle, hogs and
chickens.
His parents; one brother, Troy; one son, Clifton and
one daughter Carlin Sue preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lorena Hardwick of the
home; four children, Donnie Hardwick, Oklahoma City, Dona Sue Rawson,
Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Terry Wayne Hardwick and Jerry Hardwick, both of
Holdenville; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two
brothers, Doyle Hardwick, Lamar, Oklahoma and Donald Hardwick,
Holdenville, Oklahoma; a sister, Edna Shields, Lamar, Oklahoma and
numerous other relatives and many friends.
Services were held on Monday, August 2, 2004 at First
Baptist Church, Holdenville, Oklahoma, Rev. Meredith Robinson,
officiating.
