Funeral
services were held July 1, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Fisher Funeral
Home Chapel for Nancy Victoria Leader.
Ms. Leader was born May 10, 1938, in Hughes County and died
June 26 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. at the age
of 68.
She was reared and lived most of her life on the family farm
between Holdenville, Oklahoma and Wetumka (Ragtown area), Oklahoma. She attended Moss
school graduating in 1956.
Ms. Leader loved to collect recipes and had a collection
including more than 300 books. She also loved to go dancing with her
ex sister in law, Glenna Townley.
She moved to North Carolina a few months
ago to be near her nephew, David, a physician, who was helping get
the best treatment in her battle with cancer.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jeff and Mable
Leader, a niece, Charity Kibby and her great-niece Megan Leader.
Survivors include a brother and sister in
law, David and Marilyn Leader, Coos Bay, OR, sister and brother in
law, Terry Lee and Bill Kibby, Wetumka (Ragtown), Oklahoma and
numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were David Leader, Bill Kibby,
David Leader Jr., Regan Leader, Wayne Kibby, Delbert Kibby, Jeffery
Leader, Andrew Bush and Jeremy Leader.
Interment was in the Holdenville Cemetery
under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
